Tinned Localities

10 TEN X, 2006

A part of group exhibition named 10 TEN X, a special feature at 100% Design 2006. This little kit 'Tinned Localities' was born in a conversation between Ryuichi and I, when he visited me in my studio. During his study of BA Sustainable design, he designed a ceramic ball, which has a few holes pierced in it, to look at projected "pin-hole" images inside. I like the idea of a little space in my hands, which contains reflected images of your surroundings. We then started to discuss the possibility of turning this instrument into a self-made device out of litter from the streets and everyday waste - and suggest to view your neighbourhood in a different way.

Colaboration with Ryuichi Tabu.
